Fluffles Desset

I haven't posted much this week because I work nights and still have 3 more nights left this week. My weekend falls when everyone else is working so that is when I get the most done.

I made this card tonight its made with DCWV textured cards and I don't like how skimpy they are so I made them like 1/8 smaller and added a background behind it. Its last years In Color from Stampin up. Then I added the border at the bottom which is this Years In Color the green with its Matching ribbon. The ribbon is real nice because it is the same on both sides. That really helps when making bows so they don't look funny. Of course i had to put this in the sewing machine on the border. I am really liking that machine. I Also have a Create a cut cutter which i think its what it calls it has different blades so you can make scallop edges or different kinds of edges that the scissors usually makes with the ease of a cutter. This is one i used it on if you can see the bottom edge and then i took my hole puncher and punched holes in it. I also made fluffles and the balloon 3d of course. I think that really adds to cards when they pop out at you. Added some glitter to the cake.

Baby Boy Card

I made this baby boy card this evening while watching the movie Perfume - Very odd show i still haven't decided what i thought of it. One of those. Its been busy on my days off and haven't had much chance to work in my scraproom with family stuff going on. My daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled yesterday so spent half the day in there among a million other things.

When i seen this stamp set i actually had this card in my mind and had to get it. Stamp set is doodlebug which is also the background paper. I love doodlebug paper but this is the first stamp set i have bought from them. Their stamps are clear sets and normally i don't buy clear because i have found they stain very easy and get gummy after time but this stamp set cleaned up real well i was surprised. So i will definately be buying some more.

Of course i had to sew somewhere on the card so on this one its on the border. Rest of the cardstock on the card is stampin up. Ribbon is May Arts...

Horse Sewn Card

Here is my favorite card I made today - Again its using SU Kraft paper. Also I used 3 different papers for the background and sewed them together. Added some Making Memory Brads which i have had forever and could never find a good card to use them on. I think they match perfect on this one. Gingham ribbon is also Stampin Up's... Isn't it too cute. I must say this sewing is becoming very addicting.

First Sewn Card

Ok I am all excited i got my sewing machine tonight its a small one that I ordered from Hancock Fabrics online. It's a Janomi Mini Sew if anyone is interested. They run about $50 and weigh about 5lbs. Its small enough to fit on my scrap table.

Funny thing is I can't sew a stitch. Never have been able to. I didn't pay much attention in the sewing class I had in highschool and I had a girlfriend sew my project we had to make. Always looked like too much work for me.

But here is my first sewn card. After i played with the machine for an hour trying to figure out how to thread it and get it to work. I absolutely LOVE it... I made this its all sewn around the edges.. It was way too fun. Be on the look out for more of my sewn creations...
Also the background is done on Stampin Up's Kraft paper which this is the first time i have used it too. I really liked how it blended on it. I am so picky about the paper i use its not funny. Believe me its not worth it to skimp on paper for using pencils with gamsol because it will make a different. I have found and not because i sell it but because i love it that Stampin Up's cardstock is great for pencils but its not good for markers so it all depends on the project.

Finding Trouble

Well my work week started last night which i work nights so don't have a whole lot of time to do things after i wake up. I have been working on a special order of Christmas cards I have. And wow can you believe Christmas already. It will definately be right around the corner before we know it.

Here is another card i did called Finding Trouble. It is so cute. Most of the toilet paper is 3d. Added some great ribbon. Speaking of ribbon May Arts just released some beautiful ribbon. I should be getting it in a few days. I will post it when i do. Very pretty stuff more sheer with dots on it.

Well almost time for work... Have a great week.

Thomas Kinkade

Today I worked on this Thomas Kinkade card which was alot of work but I love the final outcome. This was done with Acetate and i stamped the stamp with stazon again. Added different color chalks to it and some beautiful charm corners. Wasn't sure how to stick the corners on there so i used foam tape and glue. I also used Pearl ex on the background which i need some gold which i didn't have just blue and pink so blue it was. I love these stamps i might have to invest in some more. Might looks nice being watercolored too...

Transparency Cards

Last night i made some transparency cards. Ran all over looking for transparency but finally found it at Office Max i think the place is. Any office store will have it. It is called Presentation Covers. I get the clear transparent one's as they do have others that are not. I use stazon and stamp on the cover. I am going to be doing some winter one's with snowflakes using white stazon and stazon comes in a variety of great colors now. Including yellow, pink, blue and green i believe. They are light pastels though not dark.

After you stamp the stazon do not touch the card it will smear all over the place. Then I did the front i made sure what i put on the front like my witch also has a matching back for the reverse side. I hate to show anything on reverse sides of my cards like brad backs etc. I cute out extra parts to make it 3d. Also on both cards i added some die cuts. I collect quickutz dies and never use them so thought i best start... Hope you enjoy it. These went on ebay this morning.

Worked on a few cards tonight which turned out cute. Got my new Penny Black stamps and couldn't wait to play with them. I also got a Thomas Kinkade one which I haven't made as of yet. I have been thinking about getting a sewing machine to sew on cards but trying to figure out just where I am going to put it. I am so glad tonight is my last night of work for this week. Here are some of the cards i made tonight.

Sunday Evening

I am in the process of trying to put this blog together though I don't really have much of a clue on what I am doing. It was my son's birthday today so I didn't do much. I also worked nights and ended up having to stay over an hour this morning which needless to say did not make me very happy. I made some cards tonight to throw on ebay. This is one of the Christmas one's i did. Isn't it cute. I am actually making a ton of these for someone so wanted to get some idea on what to do. I like this one though. I also have an order of Penny Black stamps that should be in the mail tomorrow I so can't wait. Also bought a few quickutz off ebay that were mailed last week so I am so hoping they get here tomorrow also. Other than that gotta go get ready for work just wanted to get something on here.
